GREEN ISLAND, Hanover Jamaica is set to take centerstage in the global wedding industry next month with the staging of LOVE CARIBBEAN – JAMAICA EDITION, further cementing its position as a leading destination for weddings and romance travel.

The event set for the Princess Grand in Green Island between May 11–14, will bring together wedding planners, travel advisors, and suppliers from across the globe under the umbrella of the International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals (IADWP).

Industry stakeholders say the conference comes at a strategic time, as Jamaica continues to strengthen its footprint in the lucrative destination wedding market. President of IADWP, Kitzia Morales, said the Jamaica staging is aligned with the organisation’s mission to create meaningful opportunities within the industry.

“We will come together in one of the Caribbean’s most iconic destinations to learn, connect, and build meaningful relationships that lead to real business opportunities. Beyond its beauty, Jamaica represents a growing market for professionals looking to position themselves in the wedding industry. Together, we will experience the destination, connect with key partners, and strengthen what truly defines IADWP, our community,” she said.

Jamaica’s selection as host comes as no surprise. The island has consistently ranked among the top five wedding destinations in the Caribbean and remains one of the premier wedding locations globally.

Its standing has been reinforced by the World Travel Awards, often described as the “Oscars of the travel industry,” which has recognised Jamaica for its outstanding wedding, honeymoon, and romance offerings.

Since 2014, Jamaica has captured the title of World’s Leading Wedding Destination six times, including consecutive wins in 2020, 2021, and 2022. The island was again among the nominees in 2025, competing with destinations such as Dubai, Bali, Mauritius, Barbados, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, St Lucia, and Cebu in the Philippines.

Jamaica was voted World’s Leading Wedding Destination and Cruise Destination at the 24th Annual World Travel Awards. The island’s local tourism partners also took home a total of 7 awards, further cementing the island as a global leader in the industry – Ministry of Tourism photo.

Tourism officials say this sustained recognition reflects not only Jamaica’s natural appeal, but also the strength of its infrastructure and its ability to deliver high-quality, memorable wedding experiences.

Against this backdrop, Love Caribbean – Jamaica Edition 2026 is being positioned as a key platform to drive further growth in the sector.

Described by organisers as “the Caribbean’s premier destination wedding and romance travel event,” the conference is designed to go beyond networking by facilitating direct business engagement between international buyers and Caribbean suppliers.

“More than an event, it’s where business relationships are built, deals are closed, and your portfolio expands,” organisers said.

The programme includes pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with Caribbean resorts, educational sessions led by global industry experts, and high-level networking with decision-makers. Organisers say this approach ensures participants are equipped not only to understand the region’s offerings, but to actively market and sell them.

Major sponsors of the event include the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) and Princess Hotels and Resorts, while special sponsors are listed as The Excellence Collection, Grand Palladium, Round Hill Resort among others.

Speakers include operator of With This Ring Destination Weddings & Honeymoons and IADWP Regional Chapter Leader for the English-Speaking Caribbean Islands, Brenda O’Neale; Founder of Travel With Sparkle & Six Figure Travel Academy Nadia Sparkle; JoAnn Gregoli, founder of US-based Elegant Occasions by JoAnn Gregoli who is recognized as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Wedding Planners in the World’ Philip Rose Deputy Director of Tourism at the Jamaica Tourist Board, among others.

Jamaica’s competitive edge continues to lie in its combination of natural beauty, culture, and accessibility. From Negril’s beaches and sunsets to the Blue Mountains, the island offers diverse settings that require minimal enhancement.

Organisers describe this as “effortless beauty,” where the surroundings themselves become the décor.

Beyond the scenery, Jamaica’s cultural vibrancy adds depth to the experience. Reggae music, rich traditions, and distinctive cuisine create immersive, multi-day celebrations that resonate with couples and their guests. The island’s well-established all-inclusive resort sector further enhances its appeal, offering convenience, value, and professional coordination in a single location.

A key focus of the conference will be building stronger connections across the wedding and romance travel ecosystem.

Participants are expected to form partnerships with Caribbean suppliers, expand their destination wedding portfolios, and gain insights from global industry leaders.

Through structured meetings and immersive experiences, organisers say attendees will gain firsthand exposure to Jamaica’s offerings while forging relationships that can translate into long-term business opportunities.

In addition to formal sessions, the event will feature curated experiences, including site inspections, culinary showcases, and off-site excursions, giving participants a deeper understanding of the destination.
