Major international events in Jamaica are never complete without live reggae music, vibrant food, rich culture, and unforgettable entertainment — and the farewell celebration for the International Association of Destination Wedding Planners’ (IADWP) Love Caribbean – Jamaica Edition 2026 conference delivered exactly that, in spectacular fashion.

Held at Dream Island at Princess Grand Jamaica in Green Island, Hanover, the wedding reception-style finale transformed the beachfront venue into a dazzling showcase of Jamaican hospitality, destination wedding luxury, culinary artistry, and Caribbean celebration culture.

The elegant closing event brought together international wedding planners, romance travel advisors, photographers, tourism executives, bridal suppliers, and wedding industry professionals from across the Caribbean and overseas following two days of meetings, educational sessions, networking, and cultural experiences.

From the moment guests entered the venue, they were immersed in a carefully curated wedding-inspired atmosphere.

Tables throughout the dinner reception were creatively named after some of Jamaica’s most iconic national figures and symbols, including sprint legend Usain Bolt, cultural icon Louise Bennett-Coverley, the Blue Mahoe national tree, and the Lignum Vitae, Jamaica’s national flower.

One of the evening’s most talked-about attractions was the stunning display of wedding cakes designed by the Princess culinary team. The cakes, ranging from miniature creations to medium and grand multi-tiered centrepieces, showcased extraordinary craftsmanship and artistic detail.

Among the standout pieces was a glamorous stiletto-inspired wedding cake, which quickly became a favourite backdrop for photographs and social media posts throughout the evening. The cake displays reflected the growing trend within luxury destination weddings where cakes are increasingly viewed not simply as desserts, but as immersive visual experiences and artistic statements.

Adding to the evening’s atmosphere was a “Happily Ever After” sweets station, where beautifully packaged wedding cake slices had already been carefully boxed for guests to enjoy and take away.

Nearby, guests gathered around an elegant perfume experience station, where Princess staff invited ladies to select from six different signature fragrances. The scents were poured on the spot into Princess-branded 15ml perfume bottles, adding another personalized luxury element to the event.

The culinary experience itself extended far beyond traditional reception dining.   A massive artisan bread station featured a variety of freshly baked breads, while dessert displays overflowed with sweet treats, pastries, tropical-inspired delicacies, and colourful fresh fruits reflecting Jamaica’s abundance and culinary creativity.

Throughout the evening, live reggae music filled the air — a reminder that Jamaican music remains central to the island’s entertainment identity and wedding culture.

Guests danced, mingled, and celebrated as Eclipse Band of Little London performed live reggae favourites against the backdrop of the Caribbean Sea and illuminated reception décor.

Adding a dramatic visual element to the night was a captivating acrobatic performance by a young female dancer dressed in flowing white attire, whose aerial movements and graceful choreography drew applause throughout the venue.

The performance blended elegance, romance, and theatrical artistry, complementing the overall wedding reception theme of the evening.

Yanique Thomas, Weddings Manager at Princess Grand Jamaica, said the resort continues positioning itself as one of Jamaica’s premier wedding destinations.

“We have an amazing product here. We have premium locations,” Thomas told Negril Times, adding that “Dream Island is where the couples host their wedding ceremony, cocktails and receptions.”

Thomas also said Princess approaches weddings as more than a single-day event.

“We have our slogan when it comes on to weddings: ‘The Princess Promise.’ We are for the people because we understand that a wedding is not for one day. It is an experience, and it is emotions. We care and we have passion…,” she explained.

The evening concluded with a breathtaking fireworks display by Pyroneers Explosives whose several minutes-long aerial showcase lit up the Green Island night sky in spectacular fashion. Powerful bursts erupted across the horizon with the deep rolling echoes of a ceremonial military range, before transforming into brilliant explosions of colour cascading above Dream Island and the Caribbean Sea.

The display blended precision, drama, and elegance, with sparkling white bursts, and vibrant flashes illuminating the beachfront venue as guests looked on in amazement. The finale provided a fitting close to the Love Caribbean – Jamaica Edition 2026 conference, ending the celebration with the kind of theatrical spectacle often associated with world-class luxury weddings and major international events.
