As Jamaica welcomes delegates from across the globe for the 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference, stakeholders in Negril and western Jamaica have much to gain from the conversations taking place.

The conference brings together Jamaicans living overseas, government officials, business leaders, investors, and development partners to explore ways of strengthening Jamaica’s economic growth, resilience, and sustainable development.
For Negril, one of Jamaica’s premier tourism destinations, the conference presents an important opportunity to showcase investment potential, promote tourism development, and strengthen connections with Jamaicans abroad who continue to maintain strong ties to their homeland.

Diaspora members have long played a significant role in supporting communities through remittances, philanthropy, business ventures, and knowledge transfer. The conference provides a platform to expand these contributions through strategic partnerships and targeted investments.
Topics being discussed at the conference—including tourism, entrepreneurship, healthcare, education, climate resilience, technology, and community development—have direct relevance to western Jamaica.
